Christmas Tree for Barnardo’s new HQ
12th December 2013
Frosts were commissioned to supply the Christmas trees and other floral decorations for the new Barnardo’s headquarters, which was officially opened by the Queen and the Duchess of Cornwall on Tuesday 10th December, so we felt the occasion warranted nothing less than an exhibition of quality hand manicured trees. The two hand-picked Nordmann fir trees were pruned four times a year to ensure they had the perfect shape for the day.
The trees are decorated in Barnardo’s corporate colours; a selection of lime green, pink and purple baubles and other decorations were used. Frosts sent a special team out on the day to make sure everything was perfect and to deliver two corporate flower displays, prepared by Frosts floristry department, for Barnardo’s reception desk.
The corporate floral displays are in tall vases decorated with pinks, greens and purples, including baubles used on the Christmas trees. The arrangements include twisted hazel, grasses, hot pink willow, Aspidistra leaves and Fatsia leaves, as well as green ‘Midori’ Anthuriums, Vanda orchids, green Chrysanthemum blooms, and hot pink roses.
In addition Frosts supplied two small posies, which were given to two lucky Barnardo’s children to give to the Queen and Camilla when they officially open the building.
We understand the Queen and Camilla each brought a ‘royal bauble’ to add to the Frosts Christmas tree while they were there.
Frosts’ grounds maintenance team, who maintain the site, also made sure the site was looking it’s best for the royal visit.
