Over 40ft Christmas Tree
5th December 2013
Frosts Landscape Construction were delighted to be commissioned by Fortnum & Mason, London to install and decorate a Christmas tree to mark the launch of their first new store in more than 300 years, located within the busy St Pancras train station.
Our Christmas display experts sourced a 47 year old Norwegian Spruce, 13.1 metre tree (43 feet), weighing 1.5 tonnes. Following eight weeks of planning and over 600 man hours, the tree was installed over five consecutive nights. It is decorated with over 8,000 bulbs, 1000 metres of Fortnum & Mason ribbon and hundreds of their iconic Fortnum & Mason hampers. (F&M are running an instore competition to guess the number of hampers).
Ken White, Managing Director at Frosts Landscapes said: “It is considered an honour that Fortnum & Mason entrusted us with this important and very public task. The planning was meticulous to ensure we caused as little disruption as possible and the tree was erected in the shortest time to give the public the wow factor. The finished tree is stunning for visitors to the Capital and for commuters over the Christmas holidays.”
