HYLO Finsbury Tower

The Transformation of an outdated 1960s building into 29-Storey landmark tower which respects its prominent location opposite historic sites and two adjacent conservation areas.

HYLO -Finsbury Tower

The Hylo mixed-use development on the edge of the City of London. Mace oversaw this ambitious cut-and-carve project, which involved stripping back a 1960's 16-storey office block with a shorter 3 -storey podiums on the north and south, block back to its skeleton before extending upwards by a further 13 storeys. Resulting in a 29-storey building with a six-storey residential building, a twenty nine-storey commercial office building with hard and soft landscaping, common facilities, external works, and public domain works.

Frosts Landscape Construction were awarded the contract to install the landscape scheme designed by Churchman Thornhill Finch. Ground floor, including semi-mature tree planting in tree cells.

Podium works were carried out on Levels 4, 5, 6, 7, 16 and 26, as detailed below.

Level: 4 Porcelain paving installed on a pedestal and rail system, steps raised lawn areas.

Levels: 5 & 6 Biodiversity roofs were created.

Level: 7 North and South podiums. These are the largest podiums designed as multi-functional areas with space to relax and entertain. The area comprises raised planters with integrated seating, decking, lawns and plant house enclosures.
