A Virtual Walk around the Garden

Have you ever "walked a mile is someone’s shoes” to see how it feels to them?
How about walking a mile in the shoes of a child diagnosed with cancer?

The words carved in the paving express the emotions of the family as they walk tentatively along the uneven path” always with hope in their heart.

The bench is an important representation of the community of “oncology” parents who find support from each other.

There are three pieces of Sculpture in the Garden designed by Alison Bell. The first piece Perseverance is holding the gold ribbon, the symbol of childhood cancer, echoing the laces on a pair of Supershoes. Looking at Stars, depicts the family, the nucleus of the child’s world, seeking inspiration, answers, and hope from the stars as they gaze heavenwards. The final piece the stunning King of the Castle sculpture captures the joy of receiving Supershoes.

The mural is all about art which is fundamental to Supershoes. It depicts the emotional rollercoaster on which families are now unwilling passengers and honours the Super Artists who give their time to create Supershoes. The palette for the planting matches the artwork, bringing unity to the whole piece.
