Quiet Mark Tree House Garden Hampton Court Palace Flower Show

Design and construction of an exhibition garden by Frosts at Hampton Court Palace Flower Show for David Domoney and the Quiet Mark Trust.

The Garden was sponsored by John Lewis, Lexus and Panasonic.

Designed to David Domoney’s brief to create a naturalistic, sound absorbing landscape, the garden provided a setting for the tree house by Blue Forest and launch of the Lexus NX hybrid technology car.

The story is of quiet technology co-existing with nature. The tree house is a fully furnished living space and was equipped with low noise emission appliances.

A woodland setting was created by planting a stand of twelve 10 meter high silver birch trees. The grove was flanked by sunny wildflower meadow banks and pockets of naturalistic shade planting where dappled light filtered through the birch canopy overhead. The design intent of the scheme was to create a convincing living and breathing holistic landscape with strong references to nature and an authentic sense of place.

The woodland garden featured the largest trees yet to be installed at the flower show, together with more than two thousand herbaceous plants and native and ornamental shrubs. The public were invited to enter the garden and explore via the gravel path winding through the heart of the scheme, which was also designed to be viewed from the elevation of the tree house.
