There is no education like adversity. ~Benjamin Disraeli

There is no doubt that we are living through a period of great adversity, with the pandemic impacting all areas of our lives, personally and professionally and we are certainly learning a lot.

The landscape sector as a whole has been facing a particular set of challenges, where business decisions have to take into account government advice about working on construction sites alongside the critical message of Stay Home, Protect the NHS, and Save Lives. Frosts Landscapes have the responsibility above all else, of the health and safety of our workforce, protecting lives while protecting livelihoods.

Earlier this week, the sector suffered a sad loss with the passing of John O’Conner, the founder of John O’Conner Landscapes and former chairman of BALI. John’s passing from COVID-19 has brought home to the sector just how serious this pandemic is and how vulnerable we all are. Frosts Landscapes would like to extend our sincere condolences to John’s family, friends, and colleagues.

Frosts Landscapes would like to take a moment to highlight the work of the sectors associated members who are working hard to support the industry through these times. The APL, BALI, HTA, LI, and of course, Perennial are all working extremely hard to ensure the sector is up to date with vital information about COVID-19 in a fast paced environment.

Last but no means least, we want to praise the essential key workers and say a special thank you to them for all that they do, especially the NHS nurses, doctors, and social care staff that put their own lives on the line every to save others.
